I’ve tried a lot of different combs and brushes on my various dogs over the years, so I was skeptical that all the hype could be true. But I first used the Furminator on my double coated Akita mix and removed half a dog! She loved it as well, and afterwards I think she felt more comfortable as she kept coming back to get Furminated again when I was trying to use it on my other dogs. I found it worked best on the dogs that have a downy undercoat, like my Akita mix and my Pug Chihuahua mix. It worked well on my Lab mix too, but the difference was less significant. There is SO much less hair around the house now, and the dogs look better without the tufts of hair hanging off their hindquarters. I have a drawer full of dog brushes and combs that I can now donate to the Humane Society thrift store as I won’t need them anymore.
