Let’s start this off with saying that I thought Holden Caufield, from J. D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye, is one of the most disrespectful teens I’ve ever read about. Then I realized that most of his potty mouth or rude comments stay in his head. I though this character reminds me of me sometimes. What he thinks and what he does can be completely different things.

I thought this book was really good. The beginning is a little bit slow but Salinger really must have targeted the teen audience. Though a lot of people think this book should be read by college students, I think anyone in high or even upper middle school would be able to relate.

It makes me wonder what happens to Holden Caufield. I think his experience wandering around New York alone would help him learn that the world doesn’t revolve around him. As a teen I have to admit that at most time I think the same way. I think that Holden has a lot of potential and that he could live up to it if he really strived to. I would recommend this book, its funny and a nonstop page turner.

I had a bathroom scale from another maker, but I was not so happy with it: several times, when I tried my weight 2 or 3 consceutive times, I got 2 or 3 different readings (usually, small variations, but this led me upset).
So, I decided to try this EatSmart, based on the very positive comments from previous buyers.
When I received the product, I could realize its quality. The delivery was on time (it arrived before promised) and the package really protects the scale.
The product itself looks great and is far nicer than the previous one I had. Since it is not so broad (despite it has room enough even for a large person), this enhances its delicate appearance on the floor, giving a touch of style to the bathroom.
From the first use I confirmed that it was a good buy. It is very, very precise: I tried several times and the result was always the same. Continuing the test, I picked some objects to evaluate its accuracy and could confirm that the scale is really good. And the large display is very easy to read.
I was afraid that it could be heavy (as sometimes glass scales do), but it is not, so I think this is another advantage.
I must stress that before buying it, I saw some other scales at conventional stores and, for similar look and quality, the price was sometimes more than twice I paid for this EatSmart.
In short, an excellent buy.

I purchased this friction mount for my Garmin Nuvi 1390T GPS. It does not have a rubber base like the older friction mounts used for my Garmin StreetPilot C330, so I expected some sliding on the dash as I drove. However that expectation proved to be unfounded as this friction mount stayed in place (keep in mind that I do not travel “off road”.) There is not much more that I can add that has not been stated by other reviewers. I am happy with the purchase and feel that the price paid was very reasonable.

Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor

This Garmin Forerunner 305 is the best!! I don’t leave home without it!! It keep track of everything! I don’t have to worry about how many calories I burn I know what I have burned with the 305. It is exactly correct on the miles I run. I love the way you can download your progress on your computer without having to be online. I do a lot of 5 and 10k runs so this is very much needed to help me keep track of my progress. It is a great product for advanced runners, I do recommend this product to any runner that wants to keep up with their progress. Awesome product.

I got the Garmin Mount because the one that the GPS comes with doesn’t stick on the windshield, especially if the windshield is low, as is the case in most new cars.
This mount is very easy to use, and I can just remove it and store it in the glove compartment without having to struggle with it, whenever it is not being used.
It is a bit bulky, but it probably needs to be in order to stay put and not slide. It stays in place well because of the weights in the base, never had any issues with it falling off while driving.

Twilight centers on the developing romance between star-crossed flirters Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Problem is, Bella and Edward have no chemistry. He’s a 100 year-old vampire. She’s a helpless, self-conscious klutz. They don’t do anything together except look at each other. They have nothing in common–except they’re both virgins–and so they talk about nothing.

Oh, sure, they talk about the weather, music, and their favorite color, but nothing important like what they believe in or their values. These conversations about nothing are fraught with artificial tension and abused facial expressions. There’s a glower, a simper, a chuckle, a smirk, a sigh, a blush after EVERY laborious exchange. It’s meant to be engrossing and edgy, but it’s distracting and silly. Edward the Emo shifts moods from cocky to lustful to angry to protective in the blink of an eye. Bella’s range of emotions exists between expressing embarassment for her clumsiness and awe of Edward’s smooth skin, his sculpted chest, his fiery eyes, etc.

The story is told from Bella’s perspective. She’s your typical upper-middle-class teenager: spoiled, snobbish, and uninteresting. After moving to Forks, Washington, she looks down on her high school classmates because they are nice and emotionally engaged. She acquires friends effortlessly and for no other reason than to have someone to sit with at lunch. Invitations extended to her to go shopping, to go to the beach, and to go to the high school dance she treats with ambivalence if not distaste.

She placates these little people by pretending to enjoy their company, but she is really just biding her time, waiting for love. When Edward enters her life, she drops all pretense.

Edward, as described through the eyes of Bella, is just as one-dimensional and unlikable. He’s brooding, intelligent, good-looking…basically a fantasy realized. Stephenie Meyer spares an editor to overwhelm us with descriptions of Edward with SAT words like “sinuous” and “transluce

THE TOWNHOUSE MED

I read lots of reviews about lots of vacuums before purchasing this vacuum. I was hoping it was as good as everyone said, and I was not disappointed!! It was very reasonably priced, and does a great job! I have owned several canisters and bagless vacs. I am partial to canisters because of the ease in reaching under things. But this one has a low profile, so it does a pretty good job reaching the places I need to reach. And the first time I started, I found out quickly that I had better have a firm grip on the handle- the power head will pull the thing right out of your hand and the vac will take off on its own across the floor. Sound-wise, it is really not any louder than most of my previous vacs, and quieter than the Fantom Fury I just retired. I read that the power head will throw dirt around on tile and wood floors. I mainly have carpet, so I haven’t experienced this yet. Seems to do OK on the small amount of hard floors I have. We have cats, and with a separate attachment I picked up for this purpose (didn’t come with the vacuum), the vac does a great job picking up cat hair.
The only negatives I have found are:
- Since it is a small vac, the bags are small- so buy extras.
- The cord is a little too short- Be ready to unplug and plug in a lot if you have much space to cover.
- The hose is really short. I think I will be buying an extension hose soon.
- As expected with an inexpensive unit, the attachments are very basic.
In summary, I am very pleased so far. Hopefully it will last long enough for me to get my money’s worth.
