“Purchasing the hard-cover edition of Twilight couldn’t have been easier. Amazon worked like a fairy godmother in having exactly what I needed, at a terrific price, and the “icing on the top” was the super efficient and speedy delivery. My beloved daughter had loaned out her series of books to everyone in the family without a qualm – only feeling badly because she had never been able to find the first book in hard cover. As a giant thank you to her, I purchased this copy for her collection, and to say she was thrilled is a massive understatement. Thanks, Amazon, you are truly Amazing!”

Well, I do tend to go against the crowd sometimes…. I returned this pedometer last week and thank goodness Amazon refunded my money. It was not accurate for me at all.
I am sure this pedometer is accurate for those folks who (1) walk by themselves, (2) in a very clear area with no obstacles, (3) don’t expect the pedometer to count steps taken while moving around in your house doing chores, (4) don’t have a hyperactive dog or child, or (5) just want their steps counted if they go a certain speed and manage to get x number of steps in at a time. For that, I am sure it is the best, for me, not so much.
I had another pedometer (which fell in the commode and died) and I also used my CAR to measure the mileage I walk with my dog. She is a Jack Russell. She likes to stop, back up, investigate, move forward, etc. I walk her a mile in the morning and in the evening every day. This pedometer consistently undercounted my mileage. I also belly dance. With my other pedometer I was credited for housework, for my dog walking, and for my dance. With this one, not so much. I think my dog confused it, my backwards and forwards movement while vacuuming drove it nuts, and my dance was too much forward and back, up and down movement as well. So, no dice.
From what I am reading now, too late, this one has a 12-step auto-filter that counteracts counting “bounces in a pocket or car”, but “causes the pedometer to undercount during daily movement by about 50% during tests on the waist” according to a third party testing site. And that was my exact experience.
Obviously the tests for this one involved straight line walking on a treadmill and, I am sorry, but that isn’t realistic for me. More power to all you folks who love it, I shall have to go find me a differently designed model that counts ALL my steps.
