I hesitated buying a kindle because I always wondered how well it works in Canada. Also, buying something sight unseen was a little nerve racking for someone as tactile as I. The online reviews were helpful as were the videos so I decided to take the plunge. I was really interested in the 3G connectivity. I had used a sony ereader (touch edition) before and although the sony is great, it is truly the inferior cousin to the kindle. The Kindle screen is FANTASTIC; the image is so clear and crisp, you would truly think you are reading paper (that is the major difference with the sony). The only thing the Kindle does not have is colour but who reads a book in colour anyway?

I ordered my device on Monday night (11pm) ad it was delivered on Wednesday (less than 2 days later). I had pre-ordered some sample books which were already on my device when I got it. This is truly a plug and play kind of device and is pretty self explanatory. The download function works great in Canada (GTA anyway) and out of the few things I ordered, my 900 page book arrived in about 45 seconds (way shorter than a trip to Chapters!). The PPF reader function worked fine for me as well for the couple of documents I transfered to it. So for my fellow Canadians who wonder and ponder, this is a great little device that works very well norh of the 51st parallell.
