American Blues Folk The problem!

I have been collecting the audio discs of “The American Folk Blues Festival” for many years with great anticipation that the mythic video documents would someday be released. Happily those and some new performances are included on this DVD output along with the others in the series. The performances are absolute gems. This disc is a mix of studio and live performances that are so great they bring a tear of joy to my eye. Most of the performers were so rarely filmed that it is a real delight to see them perform. The set list is identified above, but it is worthy of note that the musicians backing up the “A” list track artists are a who’s who of blues legends.

I can’t pick a favorite cut as they are all wonderful, but to see Otis Rush backing Big Joe Turner, or the ultra rare filmed appearance of Little Walter blowing harp for Hound Dog Taylor (four years before Hound Dog’s stellar Alligator debut incidentally), or Buddy Guy’s super cool reading of “Out Of Site”, or the main man, T-Bone Walker, backing Helen Humes, etc. is a treat beyond explanation. The amazing Earl Hooker and Muddy Waters are bonus track features with Paul Oscher making a very cool appearance on “Got My Mojo Working.” Run time is about an hour on this disc.

If you are a fan of music, especially blues, then you need this three volume DVD set, now.

Grooming Crew American Cream chance

My family travels a lot internationally, so I wanted a scale to weigh the luggages are within airline limits of 50 lb. The product served the purpose and showed the weight very close or same as the airline scale at the check-in. Will look forward to its accuracy as the product ages.

Advantage:
- no on-off switch
- auto-calibration
- shows the final weight for 2-3 sec, so you can step down and still check the value registered (in case you have a big belly)

Note: I didn’t read the box/instructions carefully and ended up buying new batteris for this, but the product comes with 4 AAA size batteries, hidden in the box.

Democracy To Restore American about

I have been using Bracketron friction mount for around 2 years in my leased Nissan Altima which was working good.I was in need for a second one for Garmin 255w as i end up using the Bracketron for XM radio. One problem was the non sticky surface of the dashboard and the second was that since it was leased car i didn’t want to loose any signs of scratch/ tear marks on the dashboard. I was using the suction cup mount that came with the Garmin, but it detaches frequently especially when there is an extreme change in temperature/weather. I went ahead and purchased the garmin friction mount. It was easy to setup ( i got the amazon frustration free packaging). GPS is easy to slide in and take off. Its slightly bigger in size as compared to the one that i had. I purchased my first Garmin GPS in Nov 2004 and was glad to see the same locking mechanism used in that GPS. Overall i will rate it 4 stars.

And humanism the American today

Personally I don’t see what the big deal is with this series, first off we’ve got Edward Cullen, a shoe in for stalker of the month reward and definitaley the kind of guy a girl would put a restraining order on. On top of that the guy is emotionally abusive and borders on being physically abusive, he’s like one of those guys that beats his girl, then tells her he didn’t want to do it, but she made it happen and he can’t control himself. Then we’ve got Bella Swan; the poster child of the Mary Sue of fanfiction, the perfect girl who’s only flaws are small things that don’t detract from her looks, but she feels she doesn’t look good, yet every guy in her new school wants her and every girl wants to be her friend. But Bella has her eyes set on Edward, the vampire (we’re not supposed to know this but the big secret is in the synopsis on the back) and the hottest guy in school. We learn every detail of Edward’s glorious physical features (something we hear a lot) and the passion flies.

Bella being half retarded and incapable of cognitive thought cannot comprehend the fact that Edward seems mysterious and completely stopped a car from hitting her, but he’s the man of the situation and when he tells her that didn’t happen you’re damn straight Bella is going to go with. Then we get some more of Edward and his awesome features, some eye to eye contact, Edward saying when he met her he wanted to kill her but declined his instincts, then we get some glittery vampires, vegetarian vampires, a future love interest under the name Jacob. Who is actually the only decent character in the story, but Bella won’t take him, why? Cause he actually cares about her. The story goes on not much happens then a little plot shines through, people want Bella dead, I’m not sure why, Edward defends blah blah blah. Fin.

Then the sequels, they get worse, nothing beats the birthing scene in the final story, but that review is for a later time. All in all Twilight has to be the worst piece of garbag
