I am not a runner. When I am outdoors I am usually hiking or walking. When I do run, it is usually on a treadmill. I was looking for something that would help me stay in my target heart rate no matter what activity I was doing. But this item is built for runners/bikers. There isn’t even an option to walk. And it won’t track calories indoors.

I am returning the item for these reasons. I will go back to polar.

I’m just curious why there are many of you who believe God wrote the Holy Bible when it was clearly written by men such as Neale as well.

I believed the book to be extremely loving and has given a sense of peace within my life. God is loving and if he is loving I don’t believe he can be vengeful and wrathful as well. He or we created ourselves to experience life in all spectrum’s of life and although I also do not agree with some of the ideas, the premise makes logical and spiritual sense with me.

I found this book in a dusty little corner of my local used bookstore (yes, they do still exist) and was intrigued by the title and premise. A few months later I have now read the entire trilogy and must say it really speaks directly to the soul, bypassing all the mental gatekeeping we humans come up with to deny ourselves direct contact with the source of our being. I’m not one of those folks who think that all religions are only in the business of building their own power by feeding gullible minds with fear and judgment — there are certainly very enlightened folks with open hearts and minds within organized religion. Yet, I’ve always been skeptical of the ones who try to tell you that their views are absolute and threaten you if you choose a different vehicle to find love and meaning in life. It’s just too obvious that anyone who tries to tell you that God is vengeful or would exclude some of us is just insecure in themselves. As Michael Franti says: “God is too big for just one nation, and God is too big for just one religion.” Yell Fire!

What tells me that Neale Donald Walsch has really tapped into the essence of God is that the books read as refreshingly and truthfully in 2009 as they must have when they first came out in the mid-90s. This phenomenon in itself is discussed in the book — the fact that God really is timeless and nameless. Too often we’re stuck in the dualistic mechanisms of our mind that tells us to divide everything — yesterday versus tomorrow, us versus them, believers vs non-believers. In that very same mindset we also like to look at “God” as a particular thing or person, something we can imagine or portray with our thoughts. And too often, religious texts create the same kind of hierarchy of spirit that we assign to our social structures on earth. Kindle is lame… Why you say, storing books digitally is a real drag. You have nothing tangible but an electric device. Not for me. I like bookshelves filled with books, not files that I cannot see.
Until Kindle is updated with that new, or old book smell and is bundled with grips the texture of paper, and real tangible books are no longer for sale(God forbid) then I will be buying real books made out of pulp.

I have now owned my Ipod Touch for over 3 months and I still love it as much today as the first day that I got it. It can hold a ton of music and video with the 8 GB memory and I reasonable number of applications. Currently I have about 650 songs, 10 music videos and over 100 applications and I still have about 1 GB of memory leftover. If you are considering buying an Ipod Touch with larger memory I would really consider whether or not you will ever need that much space because I think this model has plenty of memory for the average user. The music function of the Ipod Touch is very similar to my previous 3rd Generation Ipod Nano. The main difference is that it has an option to shake and change or shuffle the current song. One other option is Genius which will create playlists for you and suggest songs that might be to your liking.

The Ipod Touch is really a lot like a laptop that fits in the palm of your hand. You can browse the net and do most everything you can do on a laptop except you can’t view video’s that require flash player because it’s not compatible with the Ipod Touch.

You can also download applications directly from I-Tunes and there are thousands of applications to choose from with many being added every day. Most of the applications are no more than a dollar a piece. For that charge you can add them to multiple Ipod Touches if you have them setup on the same I-Tunes account. There are also many free applications that are a lot of fun. Often when a new application is released, they will offer it free for a limited time in order to get people to try and rate it. It pays to check the I-Tunes store everyday because you never know what you will find.

The Ipod Touch has a built-in and hidden speaker which is nice but don’t expect amazing sound from it. You may want to consider purchasing exterior speakers for better sound.

If you like adventure, romance, suspense, and excitement… read the last third of Water for Elephants. The first two-thirds set the stage for a thrilling ending, but that’s all. Although Gruen’s style of writing is rich with varied vocabulary and description, the elements of the first part of the plot evoke little to no emotion in the reader. Even if the author didn’t spend a hundred pages building the back-story, the strange sexual elements that rear their ugly faces every few pages completely ruin the enjoyment of reading this book. If you want to spend 300 pages wondering why you’re reading this story, then pick up Water for Elephants and enjoy the most boring story you have ever read.
