I Toes Tiny Things information
I purchased this, like many others here, to replace a more expensive Tanita that does calculus and also weighs. When that one started to fail, I replaced it with the EatSmart scale. The EatSmart looks nice, is accurate, is not expensive, and best of all–has a nice large-digit backlit display that is easily read while you’re on the scale.

Artemis Fowl
Eoin Colfer
The main character is Artemis Fowl 12-year-old boy is a cunning evil crook mastermind that won’t stop until he gets his hands on fairy gold. Another character is Captain Holly Short who is a magical elf on LEPrecon and has no time to “refuel” her magic so her magic is very weak.
The plan for Artemis is that he will take a fairy hostage for large sums of fairy gold! He is doing this evil mastermind scheme so that he can restore the Fowl’s family reputation and fortune.
The setting of the story takes place at a lot of different locations but mostly and the Fowl mansion and it goes on for a long 10 days.
The theme of this story I would say is probably thinking one step a head of your “opponent”.
I liked the story because you could never put the book down. It always kept you guess on what would the next step be for the LEPrecon force and how would Artemis react.

My husband got me this kindle for our anniversary. I am so in love with it. I travel alot for work and love to read…this is so much easier than carrying two or three books along with you. I was surprised to find that I didn’t have to be in a Wi-fi hot spot to download, you just have to be within a cell phone signal range. I was also surprised to find that there were so many free downloads. I have taken advantage of 5 of those so far and read two, and they were very good books (that I probably wouldn’t have purschased otherwise due to not being familiar with the authors), so I’m opening up my literary world to new adventures! Thank you so much for such a wonderful product, how did we ever survive without this! By the way, I have shown this to 3 different people who didn’t know what a Kindle was, and all three have plans to purchase one in the near future!

This device is great for reading on-the-go, and although at first I found the controls difficult, it didn’t take long to become familiar with them. I take it everywhere!

My scale arrived on time and packaged in a sensibly sized box with packing that prevents/minimizes possible shipping damage. It came with batteries, which I installed easily in a few seconds, and that was it. It was ready to go. I, like other buyers, put this scale to the test by stepping on and off several times, moving it’s location, adding to my clothing and last, but not least, placed two of my soft-coated workout weights on the scale. It was right on the numbers! It passed all of these tests and was consistent each time, every time. It’s good looking with a clean, sleek design and easy to read numbers. The price is fantastic. I priced lots of other scales with and without the “extra features” that some scales offer, in both local and chain stores first. As far as all the extra features that the higher priced scales offer, all I want to do is get an accurate weight and this one is as good as, or better than the highest priced scales. Before making my purchase, I read many reviews written by people who purchased this scale from Amazon.com. One stood out and got my attention. The reviewer had purchased this very same model scale and had a problem with it straight out of the box. He wrote to Amazon about the problem and before Amazon could even reply, the Seller handled the replacement and apologized for the inconvenience. I will be buying more of these scales as gifts for family and friends. If you need a scale, don’t pass this one up. It’s a winner.

This does an excellent job of cleaning. As others have said, the dirty water tank actually does fill a bit prior to the soap tank emptying. That said, the entire lid lifts off the dirty water tank so it can be completely rinsed out in all the nooks and crannies.
Attaching the hose is a bit of a kluge. The top of the dirty water tank has to be removed, a plastic section on the tank is rotated out of the way, the hose inserted, and the tank closed. This process has to be reversed (with the exception of the section that is rotated) to empty the reservoir. That said, it works, and it’s more convenient than having to use a separate machine for stairs and upholstery and the spinning brushes on the hand tool make a difference.
Nothing is marked on the machine except in the slightly raised, molded letters on the plastic tanks. At the right angle, if I’m close enough, and if the light is right, I can make out what is stated or indicated. “Hoover, a little coloring would have killed you?” That said, it isn’t that complicated.
The brushes, which spin like clocks rather than rolling pins, seem to be far more effective. I have actually noticed that when the cleaning water has gotten cold (left overnight), the carpet is still warm after I clean it, so apparently the application of heat directly to the floor works!
With serious spots, I was impressed with how well this machine worked in conjunction with Spot Shot Carpet Stain Remover.

Twilight centers on the developing romance between star-crossed flirters Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Problem is, Bella and Edward have no chemistry. He’s a 100 year-old vampire. She’s a helpless, self-conscious klutz. They don’t do anything together except look at each other. They have nothing in common–except they’re both virgins–and so they talk about nothing.
Oh, sure, they talk about the weather, music, and their favorite color, but nothing important like what they believe in or their values. These conversations about nothing are fraught with artificial tension and abused facial expressions. There’s a glower, a simper, a chuckle, a smirk, a sigh, a blush after EVERY laborious exchange. It’s meant to be engrossing and edgy, but it’s distracting and silly. Edward the Emo shifts moods from cocky to lustful to angry to protective in the blink of an eye. Bella’s range of emotions exists between expressing embarassment for her clumsiness and awe of Edward’s smooth skin, his sculpted chest, his fiery eyes, etc.
The story is told from Bella’s perspective. She’s your typical upper-middle-class teenager: spoiled, snobbish, and uninteresting. After moving to Forks, Washington, she looks down on her high school classmates because they are nice and emotionally engaged. She acquires friends effortlessly and for no other reason than to have someone to sit with at lunch. Invitations extended to her to go shopping, to go to the beach, and to go to the high school dance she treats with ambivalence if not distaste.
She placates these little people by pretending to enjoy their company, but she is really just biding her time, waiting for love. When Edward enters her life, she drops all pretense.
Edward, as described through the eyes of Bella, is just as one-dimensional and unlikable. He’s brooding, intelligent, good-looking…basically a fantasy realized. Stephenie Meyer spares an editor to overwhelm us with descriptions of Edward with SAT words like “sinuous” and “transluce

Several friends who qualify as voracious readers recommended The Help to me. I wasn’t expecting great literature, but I also didn’t expect
such a miserable hodgepodge of stereotypes (did all the white characters except Skeeter have to be so impossibly dimwitted?), meandering subplots that chugged along at half-speed before disintegrating, totally unbelievable plot twists, and a sugar-coated, sanitized depiction of race relations in the pre-Civil Rights South.
Others have mentioned the inconsistency of dialect. Aibileen’s first person accounts, at least those at the beginning of the book, are thick with vernacular, but when Skeeter quotes Aibileen, the use of idiomatic language is much less pronounced. Moreover, the author relies heavily on dialect to differentiate her three main characters: if not for the linguistic tics that characterize them, the protagonists would be hard to distinguish from one another! As it is, the author’s lack of expertise in handling dialect adds a layer of dissonance to the entire book.
The plot hinges on the reader accepting that a dozen women would collaborate on a hot potato of a book despite the dangers of doing so. Okay, I’ll bite. But I have a much harder time believing that the brilliant Skeeter would be so clumsy in her execution, theoretically imperiling the lives of her subjects (and perhaps the wellbeing of her own family). And can it really be possible that in a city of 200,000, everyone knows everyone else? It’s hard to find much satisfaction in a story that depends on the confluence of so many unlikely coincidences.
In many ways, this is a one-star book. I’m bumping it up to 2.5 stars because it’s an easy read, and because of two characters who made the narrative less tedious. Mean girl par excellence Hilly is a villain to rival Cruella de Vil. Whenever she’s in the room, everyone perks up. Sure, she’s over the top and a mite predictable, but that’s what makes her fun. Skeeter’s clueless but indomitable mothe
